What it is.
Glass interleaving is the most unforgiving version of this job. Display and photovoltaic glass is stacked vertically in crates and shipped across oceans; anything hard trapped between two sheets becomes a pressure point, and a pressure point becomes a scratch or a break. So the paper is specified for freedom from surface impurities above everything else.
The second requirement is mould resistance. Glass moves in sealed crates through humid ports, and a paper that grows mould against a glass surface leaves a mark that cleaning does not remove. Mildew resistance is therefore part of the grade, not an add-on.
