CTP Interleaving Paper
Slip sheet between CTP printing plates — clean, smooth and slightly acidic, because the plate coating is what you are protecting.
What it is.
A CTP plate carries a light-sensitive coating that is ruined by contamination and by abrasion. The interleaf sits against that coating through packing, shipping and the plate loader, so it is specified for surface cleanliness first: dirt is counted per square metre and anything over 1.5 mm² is not allowed at all.
pH is held slightly acidic to neutral, between 5.5 and 8.0, because an alkaline sheet will attack the coating. Smoothness is specified on both faces, and air permeability is held in a band — the paper has to let the stack breathe without being open enough to let dust through.
A 37 g/m² sheet runs 0.045 mm thick with ash ≤ 1.0 %, moisture 3.3 to 4.1 %, whiteness ≥ 76 % and tear ≥ 180 mN. Heavier constructions run to 55 g/m² with higher tensile.
