Steamer Paper
Perforated liner for steamer baskets — non-stick under wet heat, which is a different problem from non-stick under dry heat.
What it is.
A steamer liner works in saturated steam, not in an oven. Water is the enemy of most paper barriers, so the sheet has to stay intact and stay non-stick while it is soaking wet and being lifted with food on it.
It is perforated so steam circulates around the food rather than being blocked by the paper — the perforation pattern is part of the specification, not an afterthought. Under it sits an oil-, water- and heat-resistant base. The mill's own cooking test for this grade is steamed rice dumplings, which have to release completely.
