Food Plates
Moulded fibre plates, plain and compartment — bought on rim rigidity, not on diameter.
What it is.
A plate is judged one-handed. Someone picks it up with a full meal on it, and if the rim flexes the food slides. That is a wall-profile and fibre-weight question, set against the food load rather than against the plate's diameter — a 9-inch plate carrying rice and gravy needs more than a 9-inch plate carrying a pastry.
Because moulded fibre is pressed to shape rather than cut and folded, the geometry is fixed in the tool: rim profile, wall angle, stacking and denesting behaviour all come out of tooling decisions made before the first plate is made. Plain and compartment formats are both produced.
Barrier treatment is specified against the food — a dry item and a sauced one are not the same requirement. Tell us the menu, not just the size.
