Fluorine-Free Greaseproof Paper

What it is.

Fluorine-free greaseproof does the same job by different chemistry. The barrier is built without fluorochemicals, which is what makes it acceptable where PFAS restrictions apply or where a brand has removed them from its own packaging policy ahead of regulation.

It is worth being straight about the trade-off. Fluorine-free grades are specified per application rather than sold on a single headline Kit number, because performance depends on the food, the temperature and how long the food sits in the wrap. A grade that holds up under a room-temperature pastry may not hold up under hot fries in a sealed bag.

So the way to buy it is to test it. Tell us the food, the serving temperature and the time in the pack, and take samples before committing to a specification.
